divider2ABOUT BIRTH PHOTOGRAPHYdivider2What exactly is birth photography?

Birth photography is the beautiful story of your baby’s entrance into the world! It captures the strength of momma as she courageously brings her sweet baby into the world. Shows dad and family members providing love and support. Documents the pure love and joy of mom and dad as they experience one of the happiest moments of their lives. All the while, preserving the precious first moments you will never want to forget.

What is included with a birth story?

While I have various package and A La Carte options for my clients, the basic birth story fee includes me being on call 24/7 from 38 weeks until delivery, my time and talent to cover your birth, as well as a beautiful, hand-crafted, silk image box with all the images printed from the birth.

Will I get to meet you before the birth?

Absolutely! I wouldn’t have it any other way 🙂  During this time we will chat, get to know each other a bit, discuss your birth plan, and go over any other concerns you may have with your birth photography experience. The last thing I want is for you to feel like you have a ‘stranger’ photographing your birth!

I love the idea of birth photography, but I’m not sure how comfortable I feel with having someone photograph certain details of my birth. How do you decide what to shoot?

The birth of your baby is an extremely private and intimate time for you and your little one. I completely respect your privacy and what you do/don’t feel comfortable with me shooting. With that said, during our consultation meeting we will go over these comfort levels. This is YOU and YOUR baby’s birth story…your privacy and comfort are of utmost importance to me.

When will you arrive at my birth and how long do you stay?

Generally, I arrive when you are in active labor and are around 6cm. However, since every birth is different this varies a bit. If I feel that there is any reason for me to miss the birth, I always side with arriving sooner rather than later. Once I am at your birth I will remain there until 1-2 hours after your baby is born.

divider2AFTER THE BIRTHdivider2

When should I expect to see all the images from my birth story?

About 2-3 weeks after your baby is born, in the comfort of your home, we will sit down together and view the images from your birth story. It is during this time that I will help guide you and your husband to pick prints and products that best suit your specific needs. However, before that time I will share a sneak peek (or two) for you to share with family and friends to announce the arrival of your new bundle of joy!

divider2INVESTMENT & OTHER SERVICESdivider2I have my heart set on hiring a birth photographer but our budget is a bit tight, do you offer payment plans?

Yes, I do! I feel that every mom has the right to have wonderful images from their birth experience. With that said, I understand the costs involved with having a baby and know that every situation is different. Please contact me for further information.

I’m interested in having maternity and newborn pictures taken. Do you offer those as well? If so, do you offer any packages that contain maternity, birth and newborn?

Yes and yes! I love being able to photograph my clients through the transitions of parenthood! It is such an exciting time to be apart of  🙂  My newborn sessions are unique in the fact that they are what I like to call family newborn sessions. When your little one is about a week old, I will come visit you at your home and capture your new family as is; snuggles, kisses, hanging out around the house, and transitioning to life with your newest addition.

When should I book you to photograph my birth?

Since births require me to be on call day and night, I am very limited to the amount I can take on per month. To make sure that I am available for your birth it is best that you book me sooner rather than later, preferably in your second trimester.

How do I book you for my birth story?

Shoot me an email, or fill out my contact form, and we’ll start planning your birth story!

divider2Expect to have a bit of fun! My sessions are very relaxed and playful, focusing on you as a family. Before your session, I’ll spend some time getting to know your family and chatting about what you guys love most. When I arrive to your home we will play games, explore, laugh, and capture the love you have for one another.

divider2Family and Newborn sessions take place in the comfort of your home. Family sessions last about 2 hours, while newborn sessions last about 2 ½ to 3 hours. My newborn sessions last a little longer, allowing us plenty of time to attend to baby (changing, feeding, soothing).

divider2I always encourage my clients to be true to themselves and dress in clothes that they feel comfortable in. Bold colors, thin layers, and neutral tones always photograph nicely. While coordinating colors is a must, please no matchy matching.

For newborn sessions it’s nice to stick to a more neutral palette to keep from colors and patterns taking focus away from your new baby.
