Some might think you choose the people you're friends with. While in most cases that might be true, there are times when two paths seem to perfectly align so that a connection is made. Kind of like being in the right place at the right time. That's how I would describe meeting Megan & Luke. It was spring time, and I was helping out at a childbirth class at Bini Birth when I got to chatting with Megan. She had concerns about some things she was going through, and birth, and my heart felt drawn helping and trying to ease her mind. The following week I made sure to follow up with her and her husband, Luke, to see how things were going. From then on, I would spend some time chatting with the two of them at the weekly classes. As the class was finishing up in it's final weeks I let them know how much I would love to be a part of their birth - either as a doula or a birth photographer. I'll be honest and admit that I was slightly worried they would think I was a creep. Luckily for me, that wasn't the case. Or...if it was...they hid it well and still had me come along for one of the most important days in their lives ;) There's so much more I could say about how proud I am of Megan and Luke, how sweet they are together, and how awesome they are as parents...but I tend to be a bit overly sentimental so I'll spare you from gushing too much and leave you with Ainsley's birth story... Ps. I also wanted to share the love for the fantastic team at Del Mar Birth Center! Their love and care always makes for such a beautiful birthing atmosphere! <3
