Oahu Birth Photographer // Baby Zozo

There are two times in my life where I vividly remember having dreams about a baby's arrival that ended up being true. One of those two dreams was for this dear mama. My trip was all planned, I would spend two weeks in Oahu so that I would be there to do a birth story and newborn session for her family. For some, reading that might sound crazy - how could we time it just right with two weeks?? Well, since we knew Crystal would need a c-section if she went past her due date, that gave us a slightly more exact timeline. She had hoped to try for a VBAC, but overall just wanted her baby girl to arrive safely into this world. As we got closer to her due date, we talked through her options quite a bit. Not knowing what was going to happen brought on some uncertainty for Crystal. So while we waited, everyone was sure to keep busy. I even helped paint some of her older daughter, Ava's, room! :) Then, after being there for a few days I had a dream that she went into labor naturally and was able to achieve the VBAC she was hoping for. I shared the dream somewhat jokingly in the morning, and said "who knows"?? :) In my dream she gave birth either Sunday or Monday night...when I woke in the morning I couldn't remember exactly which day it had been (meanwhile, my dream happened Friday night). And then, sure enough, Crystal went into labor Sunday night and we headed to the hospital. Later on the next day she had little baby Zoe -- getting the VBAC she wanted. (Crazy dream, right?!?!) I can't even begin to share how proud I am of Crystal! She did such an amazing job bringing Zoe into the world. One of the sweetest moments was when she asked for the polaroids she brought of Ava and taped them to her bedside so she could look at her during labor! <3 This mama sure does love her babes!
