we run LA.

this weekend was a busy one for me! i had my cousins engagement party out in valencia on saturday (so much fun seeing the happy couple, and family), and then the la marathon on sunday! and no, i did not run the marathon. my boyfriend and a few of his friends did. they all finished. all of the 26.2 gruesome miles. i know, amazing. it was actually quite inspiring! i was within a couple hundred feet from the finish line, so i had the privilege of seeing hundreds of people finish this enduring trek. and on top of it all i got to see elvis (a few times), and marilyn monroe! who would of thought they would be running it too. there were some funny points, and definitely some tear jerkers while watching the race. i saw a few father/daughter, father/son, and couples running it together. many people were passing in pain, either crying, or limping...and everyone in the crowd would call out the name on their bib and cheer them on. it was great. i yelled out to so many people as if i knew them. there were also a lot of groups. one of these groups was pushing a man in a wheelchair, and about 100 yards before the finish line they stopped, lifted him out of the wheelchair, and helped him walk the last 100 yards so that he could walk across the finish line. oh man, my eyes were tearing up! it really was amazing. i'm so proud of everyone who ran yesterday! here are some pictures from the engagement party: and here are some from the marathon: hope everyone else out there in blog-land had a great weekend! enjoy these last couple weeks of march. with love, lauren
