A birthday in New York.

The week or so before my birthday the weather in NY was chilly, windy, and rainy. But come April 2nd, it was beautiful outside! I like to think it was mother nature's present to myself :) I spent the day relaxing, and indulging in yumminess. Julissa and Kritsina were here to visit/celebrate with me, which was so great! It was nice to have at least two friends from home here with my on my birthday! All I wanted for my birthday was delicious Italian food, and delicious Italian food I got! A few other friends were kind enough to join, Niki, Ira & his wife Andrea. I'm so glad that they came!   One of the most memorable pars of the night was when the waitress brought out a cake for me. Since my sister Neyla couldn't be there to celebrate with me, she planned this whole cake thing. To paint the picture, the restaurant was candle-lit and the music was pretty loud. All of a sudden the music stopped, and drum roll started. Confused, I looked around and saw the waitress coming around the corner holding a cake with a big sparkler on the top. The entire restaurant turned and was looking at me. Everyone proceeded to sing happy birthday to me. I can say that I have never seen anything quite like that with the sparkler and all! It was awesome!   Here are some pictures from the night...thank you everyone who wished me a happy birthday, and a special thank you to everyone that came to my dinner! It meant a lot! :)       Thanks again for all of the birthday love!   Hugs, Lauren
