day 3.
By this point, we all wanted to be to IL already, but the kids were still holding up pretty well! This leg of the trip was only about 6 hrs...so not TOO bad. The kiddos played around in the backyard before we packed up and headed to Nellie's Sweet shoppe (which is owned by my great uncle & aunt). It was nice to be able to see the shop (named after their daughter Janelle who pased away a few years ago to melanoma cancer), and taste some of the fudge master's fudge! I LOVE this next one, my sweet little boy :) Noah showing my his "hurt" fingerMy mom's cousin Ronna, Aunt Jackie, Uncle Harley, & my wonderful momma! I'm really glad we got the chance to spend time with family, and visit their shop! It's touching that they named it after Janelle. In the front corner of the shop they have an information desk on melanoma, and how keep your skin protected. That bracelet that Aerial is wearing was given to her by my great Aunt Jackie...when the beads change colors that means that you should be wearing sun protection. How cool is that? In an age where so many people want to look extra tan to "look better," it's smart to think twice about the damage you're doing to your body. So here's my two cents....WEAR SUN SCREEN! Keep good care of yourself :) Hugs, Lauren
