Day 1 / Day 2
We left bright and early, 3 am, to start heading to Illinois, but that wasn't the hard part. Day 1 meant driving from Hemet, CA to Denver, CO. Oh, and did I mention we had a 1 & 2 yr old in the car? Ya, you can pick up your jaw now :) It took us about 15 hrs. Luckily the kids, and myself for that matter :p, slept for the first few hours since it was so early in the morning. They actually did really well! It helps when Grandma sets up a DVD player for the kiddos :)
Why Denver you might ask? One of my sister's childhood best friend now lives there, so we worked it in our route to stay the night there.
Day 2: Denver, CO to Smithville, MO. Not near as long as a drive, more like 9 hours. And little town Smithville? Great Uncle Harley and Aunt Jackie live there, and we just had to visit the fudge master! :) more on that when I get the chance.
