There is a first for everything, and Wolfgang's birth certainly proved that! From the initial text from Carly to his arrival was a short and quick couple of hours. What started with a heads up that things were moving along, quickly became he's coming right now! Meanwhile, the midwife and myself were both still on the way! One of the things I love about home births is that in a lot of ways it becomes a family affair (that is...if you want it to be that way). Since little Wolfy decided to speed things up and come before the midwife was there, his papa ended up being the one to catch him. Then, when it was time, his big sister was the one to cut the cord. How neat is that? It was so special to arrive (although bummed to have just missed his arrival), into such a calm and loving setting as Carly sat in the birth tub surrounded by her family oohing and awing over Wolfy.
