Los Angeles Newborn Photography // Baby Hutch

When I first met Nikki I was a total mess...a swirly tornado of stress. I was working through issues with my creative identity - which, if you're a fellow creative you know that is very much so your own personal identity. Meanwhile, Nikki was pretty solid. She overall knew what she wanted with her photography business and was rocking it.

We were two opposites.

I would imagine the first couple of days of knowing me she wanted to murder me...or at the very least distance herself from me and my highly emotional self. Thankfully the ever wonderful (albeit magical) Kristen Kalp helped me work through some roadblocks and a much more balanced Lauren started to surface (giving me some redeeming qualities ;) ). Man am I grateful for that because my friendship with Nikki has become one of my greatest treasures. I can always count on her honesty and advice in any given situation. Seeing her love on her kids with every ounce of her being and having seemingly endless patience makes me hope to be even a sliver of the mother she is one day. It was seriously a huge honor to be able to come back to Canada and document her with her rad kiddos as they grew by one. Hutch is the sweetest. And is now a gazillion times bigger than these pictures...which makes my heart ache to visit again. Here are some of my favorites from Hutch's newborn session!
